"Sister Two" (handwoven tapestry; 43cm x 96cm; 2020)
Hello! My name is "Sister Two" and I measure 43cm x 96cm. I came into the world in 2020. I am made of cotton rope and cord, merino wool yarn and roving, cotton thread and yarn and OOAK In The Ply handspun yarn.
My inspiration for this tapestry was the idea of flow and diversity. It sat side-by-side on my big loom with "Sister One" for months through a slow and methodical creation process. They played off of one another - when one got some attention or a new detail, the other received equal treatment. The details in each tapestry are distinct, but related. They would be happy to stay together and hang out, if you are looking to adopt both. Please see the separate listing for "Sister One" for details.
My tapestries are one of a kind and woven on my own handcrafted, maple looms (also for sale in my shop) in my home in Ottawa. Each piece is lovingly created with attention to the smallest details. If you like elements of this piece, but want to talk to me about a custom commission, please reach out to me.
